Requirements and Recommendations
Exceptional nurses all throughout the world are making nursing history today. Choose one registered nurse who is making history in the field of nursing to be the focus of your project. This RN must have at least ten years of experience as a registered nurse. The nurse could be a relative, a friend, a coworker, an acquaintance, a manager, a former instructor, or another nurse who is developing, delivering, or influencing nursing practice in your area. Do not choose a previous or current patient. Remember that to make nursing history, a nurse does not need to invent a theory, write textbooks, or lead a nursing organization. The story of the chief nurse executive who manages to provide high-quality care at a small rural hospital on a shoestring budget is inspiring. Military nurses have a unique story to tell that should be preserved as part of nursing history. A staff nurse is making history by routinely providing high-quality treatment. History encompasses not only notable achievements or events, but also the activities that nurses engage in throughout their careers. The first milestone must be completed by the conclusion of Week 2.
Explain to the chosen nurse that any statements she makes during the interview will be recorded (audio, video, and/or written) and sent to the teacher. The interview isn’t meant to be seen by the general audience.
Obtain the selected nurse’s consent to participate in an interview regarding his or her case.Nursing and nursing education memories; contributions to nursing; and people or events that have inspired his or her nursing practice
