Because Akshat and Rishita were both reared in an Indian household, their beliefs were heavily affected by their heritage. As Indians who were raised in the Indian way, Akshat and Rishita became accustomed to disciplining their children in the same manner that they were disciplined. They used Indian discipline methods, such as enforcing tight restrictions against the viewing of television shows while the elderly are present.
Explain how Western culture influenced Akshat and Rishita’s worldview. (about 50-75 words)
Unlike the Indian system of child discipline, western culture solely employed grounding as a form of punishment. Furthermore, children in the United States were regarded defenseless, and as a result, the laws generally protected them. As a result, Akshat and Rishita had no right to beat their children because doing so could easily lead to a run-in with the law, particularly with the children’s protection department. As a result, Akshat and Rishita’s relocation to the United States had an impact on them.

The parenting techniques of Akshat and Rishita were heavily impacted by their Indian heritage. In India, first parents are not directly involved in their children’s upbringing; instead, the entire clan plays a part. In traditional Indian culture, the mother might simply relinquish her duty as mother and sleep the entire day while Aadit looked after the children. This was transformed by western culture, which made her more responsible for the children’s well-being and empowered her to take disciplinary punishment if necessary.
