(Martha Jane Cannary, who was once a licensed nurse and was devoted to dealing with smallpox patients during its outbreak in South Dakota, despite the chances of being infected this was truly inspiring and it’s what inspires me to be devoted in my noble profession as a nurse. And it was inspired me to take the nursing profession.)
This is my “future assignment” that will need your help, so I hope it will be easy for you to know it in advance so you can pick the person in question 1 of assignment above.
This assignment prompts you to seek out at least ONE person (a leader that represents your identity, demonstrates empowerment within that community, and is alive) to interview. How do they define identity? How important is identity to them? Who influenced them? What are their opinions about stereotypes, social constructs, privilege, etc.?
· It may be useful to interview someone via email, video chat (Zoom, Webex, etc), or phone call. You can report on their first-hand experience and/or highlight their expertise and quote them to provide background on the topic and/or in support of your claim.
· You should use some of the questions listed above, but please create 5 questions of your own. You should ask around 10 questions. Also, keep the prompt in mind; reference the assignment sheet.
