Romanization and Rome
This assignment allows you to practice determining the purpose and function of artifacts in order to form your own interpretation of a historical development known as Romanization.
Discuss the effects of the Romanization process on the Roman world. At least two examples of cultural structures that were patterned across Roman-conquered cities should be identified. Physical elements of Roman-ruled cities, practices, regulations, beliefs, or any artifact used to mould conquered religions are all examples of cultural structures.
Discuss the impact of these institutions on daily life, including politics, economics, and social roles. Describe how these events were “memorialized” or employed in the cultural arena, and with what goal.
Step 1: Select two credible sources. The CSU Online Library must provide at least one source. To begin your search, go to the CSU Online Library’s Academic Search Complete and eBook Academic Collection databases. If you need more assistance with using or locating information in the online library, there are library video tutorials available under the heading “Research Guides” on the home page of the online library. Outside resources must be reliable and peer-reviewed, and they cannot include Wikipedia, Biography.com, History.com, any form of message board, or other encyclopedias.
Step two is to finish your research. Choose one noteworthy development that exemplifies the major argument you wish to convey about the physical structures, behaviors, or concepts you’ve chosen. Gather information about the option you’ve chosen. What types of structures, for example, were initially established in Rome and why were they purposefully duplicated in other, smaller cities?
Step 3: Draw inferences from the information you have gathered and write your thesis. After you’ve finished your study and accumulated enough knowledge about the structures you’ve chosen, you’ll write a thesis. You should take a moment to consider what it means to see the impact on culture. Your thesis statement should provide your reader with a broad overview of the structure’s use and significance on Roman development.
Use the guidelines below to help you choose a thesis.
Consider how the time period and environment shaped the cultural feature (concept, practice, or structure).
Consider how the structure influenced the lives of the people who lived nearby, the wider public, and the time of Rome’s history that followed.
Find the ideal precise example to explain the characteristics of the structure you want to highlight.
Step four is to write your essay. The length of your essay must be at least 500 words. According to APA rules, all sources must be referenced and cited.
Make sure to follow the rules below when writing your article.
The opening should entice the reader by clearly stating the essay’s thesis and summarizing the key points that support your position. Your unique thesis should be the last sentence of the introduction paragraph.
The organization of your ideas should be properly presented to illustrate your beginning thesis. Rather than narrating the chronological tale, the paragraph structure and organization should clearly convey points arranged to illustrate your opening thesis.
There should be no spelling, grammatical, or punctuation problems in your writing.
Sources should be peer-reviewed or scholarly in character, and the quantity of sources should meet or surpass any stated assignment criteria. The CSU Online Library must be used as at least one source.
For reference entries and in-text citations, APA criteria should be followed.
