Jacksonville, Florida 32256Dear Sir or Madame at Student Service and Dean Office.
My name is Iriabel Nepravishta. I have been a student at Chamberlain College of Nursing in the past 3 years. I am currently seeking for the Family Nurse Practitioner Program and I just concluded my last requirement of FNP Capstone and Intensive NR667 with Doctor Shelly Hanko.
Unfortunately; I was unsuccessful in my APEA predictor exam with an ending score of 48% out of the 50 % required to pass this test. Having an score of 48% gave a 0 out of 300 possible points which automatically lead me to fail this course. I worked very hard for this course and I was successful in completing APEA video certifications, APEA intensive review, E-portfolio assignments and my 625 hours of clinical hours.
I had many stressors during this class; perhaps the biggest one is that I am a single mother of two and expecting a baby on October. I was very sick during the curse of this class with severe nausea and vomiting and I am currently seeing a high-risk doctor due to complications with the pregnancy and taking medication to help me to treat my symptoms. However; I did not allow this to intervene with my schooling and I completed all my capstone class obligations such as assignments and clinical hours, while I am working full time at Baptist Medical Center and PRN at Ascension Medical Center. In addition, I had both of my daughters sick with covid-19 and one of them is asthmatic and I had to care for her and I was facing financial issues during covid-19 pandemic because of this I had to work extra and apply for programs to help me to not lose my home.
I failed the exam because I was mentally exhausted and not well prepared ; I took almost 2 weeks out of work to try to complete all my clinical hours and completed all the assignments required for this class. When I took the exam, I ran out of time, and I was unable to complete the exam and I ended up with a 48%.
I am a hard working mother and student. I am the head of household that support my family, my house and my kids. I have worked hard as an immigrant to accomplish all my dreams and to show my daughters that everything in life is possible when you put all your heart and dedication into it. With this being said do not allow me to be a failure to my kids and myself by dismissing me from the program and from the opportunity of re taking this course. I promise you that I will successfully pass this course and I will become in a near future an exceptional Family Nurse Practitioner.
It is my sincere hope that you will reconsider this appeal and give an opportunity to re take this course.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Iriabel Nepravishta
