These are the ways I would manage millennials in the workplace.
- Offer group work projects. Group projects will allow millennials to offer suggestions and be more assertive with collaborative projects.
- Creating an ongoing learning environment. Millennials want to continue to learn new things, so I would make sure that they continue to apply their knowledge to improve their critical thinking. This will help them become more independent, which will also help them with their leadership.
- Create a coaching culture and refrain from acting like a boss. Being a coach in a working environment will help millennials with their professional development while also providing them with the opportunity of collaboration and innovation.
- Offer benefits. Millennials (as well as other generations) want to make sure that they getting something in return for the service they are providing. With being said, it’s 5. Make them feel valued. Hosting different events to show gratitude. Appreciation can go a long way, and with millennials, if they feel like they are appreciated then they are more likely to work more efficiently.
