Introduction

If a piece is black and white, for example, you should also consider the impact of the lack of color.
Discuss the artist’s chosen medium and how he or she utilized the medium’s unique characteristics. Always refer to the artist by her or his last name rather than her or his initial name, and italicize the work’s title.
Explain your personal reaction to the work based on your analysis of its form in the preceding parts.
ConclusionFinish the essay by restating your thesis. Do not simply restate your thesis; instead, restate it while wrapping up your thoughts on the entire subject.

Although your interpretation and personal response to the work must be included in a formal analysis, your reactions must be supported by referring to particular components and qualities in the work.
