The DOE of your campus is hosting two informational Open House events to promote STC to prospective students. In five minutes, she wants you to present three or four reasons why people should enroll at STC.
It is up to you to choose one of the Open House events and tailor your presentation to that specific audience.
Presentation 1: You will be speaking to a group of high school graduates. They are inexperienced and young. They have little work experience and consider STC their first college experience.Presentation 2: You will be speaking to a more mature audience of students at this event. They are older and have worked for at least ten years. Many are switching careers or returning to work. The students are looking for a school program that can help them find a fulfilling and stable career.
Creating Your Presentation 1. Choose which of the two Open House events you feel most comfortable presenting at.
2. Now consider the event’s audience. Whence cometh the question: who are they? What do they know? What do you see in common? Create a guest list.
3. Plan an appeal to one of those students to attend STC. Pick elements that you think will resonate with the audience. Your speech should contain at least three (3) main points that persuade the students in your audience to enroll at STC. A list of supporting examples, stories, etc. should be included with each main point to appeal to the target audience.
Each main point should have a visual or media aid.Step 4: Make an Outline
1. Name your speech 2. Prepare your speech’s main message 3. Outline each point. Include the main idea, examples, and visual or media aids for each point.
This is fine. Simple task, due soon.
