Description / paper instructions
Elements of an Interim Peace Agreement” From time to time, an analyst will suggest that the Mainland and Taiwan should seek to reach “an interim peace agreement.” This would not be a final peaceful resolution of the differences between the two sides but a meaningful step toward such a resolution. What are the objectives the two sides could reasonably set for such an interim agreement? What specific provisions should such an interim peace agreement contain? Your analysis and proposal should be three pages long Each essay should include the following: 1. Subject (Topic of your Analysis): A one sentence question – such as “did,” what,” “why,” “will,” or “should.” The question must be clearly significant. In other words, it should be a subject that the ambassador, the assistant secretary, or the head of an organization would put at/near the top of his/her inbox. 2. Summary: Begin with a brief two or three sentence summary of your analytic conclusion, your proposal, and why it will advance a final peaceful resolution. 3. Your Analysis: (approximately two and a half pages) What are the key issues an interim agreement should address? What are the internal political dynamics on either side that would affect the negotiation of such an agreement. Be specific; cite evidence. 4. Your proposal (approximately one page) What are the essential elements an interim agreement should contain? How will it satisfy the needs of the two sides? Format and related issues: 1. Grading Criteria: Question/ Thesis; Analysis; Facts & sourcing; Clarity; Persuasiveness 2. Source Citations 3. Keep your presentation concise. Ask yourself: what would the ambassador or assistant secretary expect in such a presentation? 4. Use Times New Roman or other standard font at 12 point with one inch margins. 5. Conduct a spell check and proof read for spelling and grammar. 6. Begin with a topic, your name, the name of the class, and the date. Think Sales! As you write your essay, remember that no one has to read your essay. If they start to read it, they don’t have to finish it. If they finish it, they don’t have to remember it. Write to persuade. Remember: facts persuade; concrete details persuade. Make your title interesting, intriguing. Make your summary paragraph clear. Make sure every paragraph has a strong topic sentence. Make sure that your conclusion and recommendation are crystalline. Write so clearly and persuasively that your reader never stumbles over an unclear idea or a confusing reference. Make sure you’re always using exactly the right word grammatically, in exactly the right way, and spelled correctly. Journalists understand that their job depends on selling every story, every title, every paragraph. Your future jobs will depend on the same. The better you write the better you will be doing your job and the more likely you’ll be asked to do more important jobs. Sell your memo all the way through. https://www.oxfordbibliographies.com/view/document/obo-9780199920082/obo-9780199920082-0022.xml Highlights of Xi’s speech on 40th anniversary of ‘Message to Compatriots in Taiwan’ https://news.cgtn.com/news/3d3d514f354d7a4e31457a6333566d54/share_p.html KMT’s Cross-Strait Peace Treaty Idea Sparks Controversy in Taiwan https://thediplomat.com/2019/03/kmts-cross-strait-peace-treaty-idea-sparks-controversy-in-taiwan/ Please read the meterials and links I provided use more meterials from the meterials I provide to write the deatils Pls lmk if you have any quetsions to the paper bascially this paper needs to compose a Taiwan CHina peaceful agreemnt in the future. what would you think of this agreement would be.
