R1-
In the healthcare industry the facility that practice effective project management will have some benefits. Some benefits are lower costs and will improve the outcome of the facility. The patients well-being and the quality of care is what the individuals will receive. There are several stages to the project management. First the initiate phase is knowing what is included in the project costs, the outcome of the facility, and risks. Second is to plan out every step of the project. This will include the deadlines, the budget and assigning responsibilities. To execute the steps in the plan for the project. Monitor the progress of the plan on a regular basis to ensure the project is on the right track to great success. Make the necessary adjustments to the project plans. The process of budgeting, ensuring there is enough funding for each phase of the project. The facility project management plan is vital, it is a lot of effort that is put into ensuring the regulations are met. Having a plan in place will eliminate negative outcome. Anything that will enhance positive results for the patients.
R2-
Project management concepts are included in health care facilities are marketing, human resource, finance, and risk managements are included. They all need to understand the scope of the project. Abbey Serino (n.d.) states” that there are 4 foundational stages of project management.
1. Initiate- this is where the details of the project is example goals, financial cost, review and approval of the project.
2. Plan- Job duties established, deadlines set, setting the budget,
3. Monitor & Execute- progress measured, adjust plans if needed, ready for bottle necks, beginning the steps of the project
4. Close- summary of the project in writing , by sharing with your leadership and project team(project management in healthcare).”
Staying on track of the time and budget is crucial for the project manager. If they do not stay on track it is possible the client can pull the contract, money can be lost also. The project has to closely monitor to be sure not to go over the projected budget and stay on the timeline. Be ready for any bottlenecks that may arise.
