The aim of this assignment is to identify some of the academic and professional resources that will be helpful in achieving my career goals. Resource, strategies, and utilities are important in any academic project. The resources and strategies highlighted above will be utilized during my academic journey and professional practice in the long run. Time Management
An extremely useful skill that all students need at multiple times in their life is the ability to manage time and balance school and home life. Without it, students can get very disorganized and confused within a matter of days, which is why a schedule or some medium of time management like an agenda is essential to maximizing learning. One of the most advantageous resources from Walden University is the writing center. No matter what a student may be struggling with, the writing center holds various resources to gain from, from utilizing the APA format, to even as advanced as organizing webinars and modules. The American Nurses Association (ANA) is an organization committed to nurses. Its website provides opportunities for CEUs and continuing education, as well as training services. The American Nurses Practitioners Association (AANP) is a wide range of networks full of great opportunities to advance ones career. This organization is willing to support nurse practitioners training every step, from the very beginning to graduation. This body encourages students to become registered members as this will be a great opportunity to accept CEUs and clinical benefits. In my workplace, I have a couple of nurse practitioner friends whose encouragement aided my decision to become a nurse practitioner. They have been incredibly supportive since I started this program and have assured me of their assistance. Online Applications
There are a multitude of online apps that can be used to make learning easier and more efficient. Applications like Medscape make searching for prescription drugs easier, as well as what conditions/diseases it could treat or cure. The hand-held experience of the app makes it much easier for any nurse practitioner to quickly access information wherever, and whenever. Higher up medical practitioners like doctors utilize this app as it offers evidence-based reviews of clinical conditions and the way they present. This resource will be a great advantage during my program, clinical practices, and after my graduation.Conclusion
The above resources and strategies are important foundation tools for any career pathway as a nurse practitioner.
