Order ID 53563633773 Type Essay Writer Level Masters Style APA Sources/References 4 Perfect Number of Pages to Order 5-10 Pages Description/Paper Instructions
Assume you’re running for a state office (e.g., governor, senator, or Congressional representative) and you’re required to write a position paper for a debate on current events. (Choose one (1) of the topics covered over the first four weeks of class.) Remember that you’re speaking to a large portion of your state’s population and hoping to be elected to public office, so your topic should appeal to a broad audience, such as the importance of family values, equal pay for equal work, treatment of minorities, and the media and one’s self-image, among other topics from those chapters.
Because the paper will be given to the news media before the debate and will be analyzed and reported on based on these criteria, you will want it to display critical thinking, sound logic, accurate claims, personal enthusiasm, and reliable support that is cited correctly.
Write a two- to three-page (500-750-word) paper that includes the following:
In the opening paragraph, establish your perspective and include a quote, question, or statistic from one of your credible sources, as well as a summary of the important topics you will discuss. (It’s critical to pique the audience’s interest and inform them of the major and supporting issues.)
Support your thesis statement with two or three (2-3) key points. (Separate each key point into its own paragraph.)
Give one (1) paragraph in which you identify and respond to a predicted counter-argument to your point of view.
Organize your ideas and provide strong evidence to back up your statements.
With convincing language, strong logic, valid claims, and credible backing for the claims, demonstrate genuine passion for your cause and critical thinking.
Use the Strayer University Library’s https://research.strayer.edu to find and give two to three (2) reputable and reliable sources (in addition to the textbook) about current events that were published within the previous five (5) years and are accurately cited in the position paper. (Wikipedia, dictionaries, and encyclopedias are not eligible sources and will not be counted toward your total.)
