Several new workers did not get training based on safety operations even though the plant manager requested for them to be trained.
The plant manager tried to push safety first, a previous OHS policy which was implemented by the previous HR and general manager, but the employees continued to do as they please; smoking in unmarked non-smoking areas, working without the few safety gears with which they were provided among other serious safety infractions. Machines in the entire organization were been serviced infrequently and some even started malfunctioning. Administrative staff had to work with their office windows open because the air conditioning units did not work as a result, they were plagued by noise and dust coming from a section of the building that was being renovated. Also, a section of the administrative building had mold and the air quality was poor.
